Article - About Short Stories

Writing a short story is something very beautiful.
You must keep it short fast and mysterious.
The clever writer must add a space to the reader to understand it his way, to add his personal opinion in understanding it.
Just like music, I can't define it to you what exactly I meant in playing it.
You (as a listener) must add your own perspective on it.
Songs force on you what I meant in this music!

There is a song for Whitney Houston named (I will always love you)
When hearing the music alone you may interpret it as a triumph music, (after wining a battle for example)..
But the words forced on us to understand that she is leaving her lover !!!!!

That's why music is a higher type of arts than songs.

Short stories as well, it leaves you to imagine it your way, adding any missing info, adding yourself in the shoes of any person in the story.

The lord used short stories, actually the bible is one of the most inspirational books to me in writing short stories and tiny stories.

Take this as an example:
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (Matthew 13:44 NKJV)"

Single verse, one full stop, full story, open time (to find the treasure, selling everything, his silly neighbours asking him why is he selling everything?, negotiating to buy the field, finally buying the field and getting the treasure out )

Again you may question, "why didn't he just steal the treasure?!."
This adds YOU to be part of this story and start making your personal interpretation!!

reading commentaries MUST NOT stop your role in understanding it your way.
Just put yourself there, Jesus is talking to the people and you are among them, you WON'T get a commantry to hear HIM!

Also, don't make your knowledge stop the beauty of enjoying a single story, he just told this story, enjoy it as a story. Imagine it, put yourself in it, look at Jesus saying it, accept that you are a poor fisherman who don't have media and movies, and share it childishly.

A single verse can take days of your day dream :-)

The next 2 verses are :
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it. (Matthew 13:45, 46 NKJV)"
Another short story,
The main difference between the two stories is:
that the first one was a hidden treasure in a field, the man in the first story DIDN'T buy the treasure, he bought the field which contains the HIDDEN TREASURE,
While the man in the SECOND story was a merchant who bought a pearl (offered for sale publicly).

So after swimming individually in every story, you must enjoy swimming in both stories simultaneously.

Jesus said to them, Have you understood all these things? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. Then He said to them, Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old. (Matthew 13:51, 52 NKJV)

He said "scribe" :-)
Not a reader
In amplified bible he said "teacher and interpreter of the Sacred Writings"

This means that after enjoying the story childishly, (they said yes we understood didn't they?)
He told them "go to a teacher he will get new things from this story and he will increase it to you and you will enjoy it more"

Enjoy simply the bible.
