Mrs Sophie Memorial

Mrs Sophie passed away 40 days ago!
today we celebrated passing 40 days, she was sick in her last days, and before that she suffered frm partial temporary memory loss, it was hard, i totally understand how hard is this as my grandfather suffered from the same thing, the Alzheimer disease.

we attended the liturgy, and took the communion after that we sat together in a room attached to the church which specifically used after funerals where ppl gather and share their sympathy.

today was an awesome day, i met a league of old aged seniors, the age left a scar on each of them, yet the sweet smile on most faces is a proof of loving life. a proof that we are unique being human beings, the most sad person for the loss of Mrs Sophie is her door to door neighbor, hey lived next to each other for decades, she loved her so much, in Mrs Sophie illness, no one stood beside her as this neighbor. she is a kind hearted merciful widow. and a perfect mother and grandmother.

Her Husband uncle Lewis, he (due to his age) suffers a little bit as well from memory issues, yet when seeing both of them holding hands, you truly understand what love means, it means living with full commitment to each other and nothing separates them, until death say its word..

after the liturgy i offered him my hand while getting down the stairs he smiled to me and accepted my hands to support his walk, he was light as an angel, and he walked the wisdom slow, this wisdom is summarized with: "nothing worth to run after", with a tear in his eyes, he invited everyone who attended the memorial of Mrs Sophie to join in a simple breakfast and a cup of tea.
i kept holding his hand until we entered the hall. really wished to kiss his hands, honoring the wisdom, both he and his wife were very helpful supporting people, everyone loved them.

Also, a great engineering professor attended, he is (without any percent of exaggerating) one of the most talented civil engineer in the middle east, he is having this disease which make him always moving his head and his arms. yet he is still working till now, although his body is sick, but his mind is working as a computer.. he is a neighbor to the family and a friend to uncle Lewis.

this is what makes our humanity is awesome, between sickness and death, between tears and smiles, friendship, marriage and birth, pain and comfort, generations coming and generations passing away, between wise men and idiots, between faith and doubt, success and failure,
and above that is LOVE.

the image of the two old people holding their hands will be eternal in my mind, even when one of them pass away.

i really wish that i was clever in describing, the scene today was full of Humanity.
with hugs, smiles, tears, shaking hands, holding hands, eating and drinking.
